Leaf casting is great fun, and you are sure to get hooked. We will show you how to create cement molds of plant leaves. A leaf's natural depressions and veins are captured to the tiniest details. They make great bird baths, stepping stones or art for your wall or garden. Bring your favorite hosta, rhubarb or other large leaf. If you don't have access to leaves, we will have some available. There is an extra charge if you wish to cast one of our large elephant ear leaves. You will have the opportunity to fill two boards (as shown in the photos below.) You may choose to put the boards together and cast one giant, or cast 2-4 smaller leaves. Your leaves need to cure 24 hours before they can be transported home. We also sell beautifully hand painted leaves that we make ourselves. They make stunning birdbaths, fountains or art for your house or garden. Note, while I explain the process I use for painting my leaves, the leaves you will make will not be ready for painting until they are fully cured (4 weeks.) Check out examples of our work in our gallery of leaves. |
